MONTANA ROAD TRIP

GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, MONTANA

We drove from Seattle to Glacier National Park and it took about 9 hours, the first town you get to outside of the park should be your first stop to get groceries, gas, etc. There aren’t many places to eat inside of the park, and the few places they do have are fairly spread apart within the park.

I received many so questions on Instagram about ‘where exactly was this spot?’ and to be honest 9/10 of my photos from this trip were just taken as we pulled over on the side of the road. The Going-to-the-Sun Road is the main road you will drive on during your visit, which takes you from one side of the park to the other. We probably drove up and down it 8 times and we found a new place to stop every time. Here are some of the must see places to make sure to stop, once you’ve exhausted the Going-to-the-Sun Road:

-Lake McDonald

-Swiftcurrent Lake

-Goose Island

-Grinnell Glacier (hike with a group, we came within 10 yards of 3 bears!)

We stayed in 2 places to split the time on each side of the park:

-St. Mary Glacier Park KOA

-Glacier Vista Motel
